We are extremely lucky to have such a great group of bloggers. As I looked back on several of the blog posts from 2012, I found that not only are they great at writing but they are also great at photography.
I wanted to share some of my favorite Hendricks County photos that they have taken in the past year.

- At Sally Ann’s Ceramics in Pittsboro, you can make your own porcelain/china ornament (and they have enough brushes for everyone).
- Danville’s Carnegie Library, dedicated in 1903, still serves as the Danville Public Library.

- Billie Barton of Clermont works on a piece during the Zentangle class at Finer Things.

- The Beehive in Danville is a great cafe/market located off right off of US 36 in the heart of town!

- This whimsical sculpture makes a great conversation piece.
- Perry Pruitt personally collected many of the great signs you’ll find on the walls.
- This is my favorite display at the Winterland light show. What’s yours?
- Have you been swept up in the owl-decor movement? Frazee Gardens has dozens of different owls to choose from—including an entire tree of unique ornaments! They’ll also have three different activities for the Holiday Open House weekend.
- Beasley’s old barn provides a perfect setting for the holidays.
- Beasley’s barn is always a welcoming sign of both the fall and the holidays.
- The Starkey family enjoyed scenes like this during their hike at McCloud Nature Park.
- You can visit Haunted Hargrave Hall this weekend, when the Danville Police Department hosts its annual haunted house.
- When the leaves fall, legend says that you can see the remains of a haunted old bridge from this footbridge behind Playscape in Ellis Park.
- The railroad bridge over Twin Bridges Road in Danville is said to be haunted by a man who fell to his death during the bridge’s construction in 1906.
- The artwork inside the B&O Trail tunnel has become a trail destination.

- Bikers enjoy the Vandalia Trail.
- As one of the oldest landmarks in the county the Haunted Bridge in Avon is a great place for a spooky family history trip!

- Gear Up Cyclery in Plainfield has a wide assortment of bicycles that they can custom fit to any rider.
- McCloud Park in North Salem is a great place to start as you tour Hendricks County’s fall foliage.
- Keep your eyes open—some of the most beautiful leaves can be seen on the drive between sites!
- Just off of US 40 sits the great Belleville Farm Market. Be sure to make this a stop for some great fresh produce!
- Head to Cooper’s Ok Hardware & Country Store for a great selection on fall farm products.

- Let’s go racing!
- Glass artist Lisa F. Pelo holds one of her recent pieces. The creation process involved in making a piece like this flower sculpture often requires the help of an assistant or two.
- In the span of only 10-15 minutes, this artist created a drinking glass. He began by gathering molten glass on a punty (or blowpipe), blew air into the gather to create a bubble, then rolled it back and forth on a flat surface, reheating it as needed, to create the shape and size he was looking for.
- The truly is something for the whole family at the Quaker Day Festival in Plainfield!
- The 5K Run will utilize Maple Ridge Trail in Williams Park.
- The thoughtful planning of every detail at E.M. Studio Salon instantly makes you feel chic.
- Hendricks County’s largest parade features a great array of antique farm machinery and other fun entries.
- Younique Boutique has a great selection for gift shopping!
- The big, open sky afforded by Hendricks County’s parks can provide great vistas for capturing landscapes and sunsets.
- I’m always drawn to the color and beauty of flowers, and wildflowers—which bloom for such a short period of time—can be particularly interesting subjects.
- I’m always awe-struck by the size and power of the draft horses that participate in the horse pull at North Salem’s Old Fashioned Days.
- Gilley’s Antique Mall in Plainfield
- One of the county’s newer restaurants, Dawson’s Too offers fans of Speedway’s Dawson’s on Main another chance to get their favorite handmade meals.
- Boulder Creek, on Brownsburg’s North side, is a great place to start your tour of Hendricks County’s outdoor seating.
- Historic bridge along the White Lick Creek Trail in Plainfield.
- I caught this fisherman out on the creek fly fishing.
- Whether you’re looking for a new date-night location or just want to take the family out, Cheddar’s is perfectly suited for any occasion.
- Look for simple scenes such as this one, in which only the sky is reflected in the surface of the water. It puts all your focus on the solitary duck.
